Welcome! This is the template from the How-To Geek article "I've Been Using Notion Wrong for Years — Databases Finally Fixed That."
Duplicate this page into your own workspace to get started. The dummy data is there to show you how everything connects — delete it and replace with your own projects and article ideas.
How it works:
- Projects → each project is a task or topic you're working on. Set your Estimated Hours, then link article ideas to it. The ROI formula (Article Count ÷ Estimated Hours) surfaces your best bets automatically.
- Articles → each entry is an article idea. Set a Due Date and Priority Level, link it to a Project, and the Urgency formula does the rest. Use the Ready to Write view to see what you can act on today.
Views to explore in Articles:
- Ready to Write — ideas whose linked project is Done (or have no project), sorted by Urgency
- Pitch Deck — ready ideas that haven't been pitched yet
- Content Calendar — deadlines plotted on a calendar
- Everything — the full picture
